John Niems has been writing music ever since graduating Valparaiso University in 1974.
The result? Hundreds of songs and four CDs that have been played worldwide on more than 500 stations. Featuring both vocals and instrumentals, Niems' music includes pop, rock, country-rock, Latin, adult contemporary, easy listening and jazz.
A music major at Valpo, Niems plays piano and guitar and has been a piano tuner-technician since 1975, tuning more than 15,000 pianos. In 1992, he decided to record his own CDs. They are: "One Off The Top," "From Here To There," "You've Got To," and "Twelve Tracks." A fifth CD, "The Power Within," is now in the works.
"At 48 I am more motivated than ever to keep recording the best music that I can," he says. "I am very proud of all my CDs."
